What Would Elvis (and everyone else) Eat? Pine State Biscuits

...including that annoying bleach blonde hair guy on Food Network who wears his sunglasses backwards and says "dude" every other know the guy @RuthBourdain loves to hate...that obnoxious Diners, Drive-ins and Dives guy. But clearly Guy is on to something, after all this is my man's and many PDXers all time favorite brunch (and even dinner spot). Pine State is Southern goodness mixed with modern deliciousness. The pictures will help explain...

Reggie Deluxe: fried chicken, bacon, cheese and an egg topped with gravy

The Moneyball: biscuits and gravy (half veg shitake mushroom gravy and half sausage gravy) topped with an egg

Steak Club: seared flank steak, blue cheese, heirloom tomato and butter lettuce

Cornmeal Blueberry Hotcakes

Red Picked Cabbage

The Champ's Gourmet Chocolate Milk

Spiked Apple Cider

Guy Fieri annoys the "F" out of me but I tolerate him as Diners, Drive-ins & Dives features some great places like the one featured here.

I second that. His shtick might be understandable if he were 19... but the guy is 43! Who the hell has bleached hair and wears backwards sunglasses and a wristband (on their elbow) at 43?

But he gets to go to some cool freaking places.

Everyone has to make a living and he's found a niche. As to your question about the smoothies - it was a communion breakfast in anticipation of Father's Day. I had nothing to do with the planning of the affair, nor did I cook. I was a paying guests. The smoothie was unusual for the function, so I asked for the recipe. Have a great weekend. Blessings...Mary

Peter - Agreed! But apparently there are enough people out there that feel the opposite :-)

Justin - Ooooh I forgot about the wristband!

Mary - Haha ok that's fair. Hope you have a nice Father's day too :-)

Purabi naha - Thanks for stopping by - love all those curries you are whipping up.

Count me in on the vote for finding Guy Fiery annoying. I've tried to watch his show before but found that watching Guy eat makes me lose my appetite. Not a good thing. Love him or not, he does give his viewers a huge dose of food p*rn!

Helen - you know it sista. I was wondering if you knew about him in Canada. I am sorry you do :-P
