Food bloggers go a-hiking: (from left to right) L.A. O.C. Foodie, Banana Wonder, ChocoMeat and The Wind Attack
Truth be told my vegetarian friend, Shelley, suggested this place and I was definitely ready for a burger. It had been months. Three to be exact. Umami Burgers are not huge so you don't get that American obese feel after eating. It was the perfect designer burger iron surge for me although my boyfriend, Justin, was still a little hungry afterwards. My burger experience was a pleasant mix, but by no far blew me out of the water.
We started off with truffle fries bathed in a truffle glaze accompanied by a truffle dipping sauce.
The sweet potato fries were less interesting. The sugar dusting threw me off.
Earth Burger: mushroom and edamame patty, white soy aioli, truffle ricotta, cipollini onions, lettuce and slow roasted tomatoes.
Kauai Burger with thick ham and pineapple. The thick pork chop style cut of the ham turned out to be disappointing.
Hatch Burger: 4 types of green chilies and house-made American cheese
Chocolate Almond Adult Pop Tart Ala Mode...devoured, of course.

"American obese feel" - this is funny and I just learnt a new term:)
Mouthwatering fotos! What I craved the most is the dessert!Just perfect!Hugs, dear!
Three-cookies - Hehe, far more painful than European obese. I think.
Lenia - I do too!
This post makes me crave a burger and I'm not a huge burger fan :) The smaller size is perfect too for those who want a small burger fix. The sweet potato fries with the sugar looks less than appetizing. I mean they are sweet enough as it is, right? The truffle fries look more appealing to me. The adult pop tart is pure genius!
Helen - Burgers SHOULD be this size. Speaking of fast food, my friend Cathy just posted for a poutine hot spot in Montreal: http://gastronomyblog.com/2011/06/30/la-banquise-montreal/
Anna, Thanks for the heads up on your friend's poutine post! Yes, it is great stuff when you can get the authentic thing. Squeaky cheese curds please :) I will probably be in Montreal In August and will have to make a trip to La Banquise!
