Coffee Escapades: Portland Roasting Coffee

The coffee went from light to dark, starting with an Ethiopian bean and finishing with a Sumatra.

The following is a visual tour of the Portland Roasting Coffee Company

Each coffee paired with a certain flavor and food

Before the slurping came the sniffing. And a tour of the facility.

Magic beans roasted in small batches.

The caffeine levels are just slightly higher with the lighter roasts as less caffeine is obviously roasted away during the process. This is a minimal amount that no coffee heart can seriously notice.

With fresh and dried berries to bring out the brightness.

With nuts to bring out the buttery flavors.

With chocolate, because, well, duh.

The most intriguing combination award goes to the Sumatra paired with wild mushrooms. Wild earthy tones from both parties.

Besides being served at cafes throughout the city, Portland Roasting Coffee beans can be purchased on site for a "neighborhood" discount.
