Answer: Warm, almost flourless, chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream and French cherries ($8). All thanks to my Greek friend from rural Texas, Caliopy, of Ugly Mozart, for luring me to Portland's waterfront on a sunny afternoon for some chocolate and martinis. It is the best warm chocolate dessert I've ever had, meriting its very own post. The combination of the accompanying creamy fresh pistachio ice cream crown, robust cherry pond and deep warm chocolate cake was magic. My favorite desert, ever.
All you need in life: chocolate, cherries and pistachios
And here she is, armed with a lavender lemon martini.
Prepping for first bite
That about sums it up
