It could have been later than 4 am actually, but don't tell my Significant (m)Other that or that I ate spicy sauce at such a witching hour.
My friend, Panos, was showing me some awesome beer bars in the lower east side, including the oldest bar in the US (ahem, history lesson) and kept mentioning something about a spicy falafel, in return warranting more thirst and more beer drinking. Finally we made our way to the heart of Greenwich Village where lies an epic Middle Eastern hole-in-the-wall eatery that also happens to be one of the 1,000 Places to See Before You Die: enter Mamoun's. And maybe it was a wee tad past 4 am? It definitely was not the first time eating pita sammies this late at night / early in the morning.
Seriously, $2.50 for a falafel? Unheard of in Los Angeles!
The chewy baklava (not pictures) was also delicious.
Now if I can just get my hands on some more of that spicy sauce...
Totally awesome 4 am Falafelista.
