I don't think I've ever had a canned fruit or vegetable in Greece. What ever is in season is embraced by all. My Aunt's neighborhood holds their farmers market, or laiki, every Friday morning and we rushed over to stock up on goods for the week, if they last that long. Words do not describe how juicy and sweet the citrus are, or how fresh our fish was Aunt Mary grilled the following day for lunch. Here are a few snap shots I took from our latest venture, including one of Aunt Mary haggling kiwis (no joke, Greece is a major producer of kiwis).

Anna, I never tire of visiting shopping the Laiki, even if I have nothing to buy.
What a great farmer's market! Lovely veggies and fishes!

Greece makes even olives look good.
Great photos! I never take photos at the laiki because I'm too busy haggling and getting my toes smashed by old lady's rolling baskets. LOL ;)
