Not Your Granny's Ice Cream Truck: Cool Haus, Los Angeles

The night I tracked down the vegan Franken Stand turned out to be a twofer: The Cool Haus ice cream sandwiches truck was also there in the flesh, in downtown LA.
I've been tracking them since  DianaTakesABite sacrificed the integrity of her Anthropologie skirt doing due dilligence as a food blogger by eating one of these sammies on a hot summer day. On the day of my Cool Haus encounter, Diana prepped me with a tweet about making sure I get extra napkins because those mofos drip like rainclouds. Luckily it was late-night by the time my friend and I stood in front of the Cool Haus truck, looking like two grinning kids that had just stepped into Disneyland for the first time - happily confused deciding which ride to go on first. Although I was impressed the secret ice cream flavor of the day was bacon, I would be the only pig coming between me and my sammie that night. I decided to de-virgenize myself with a chocolate chip cookie - cinnamon ice cream - oatmeal raisin cookie  trifecta.

My friend went with the ginger cookie and cinnamon ice cream combo. I immediately had cookie envy when she  gasped,  "Look! There are even huge chunks of ginger in the cookie!" Damn. Her cookies were way better than mine.

But that doesn't stop me from dreaming of my next Cool Haus encounter, with ginger cookies and crossing my fingers for some kind of pumpkin and or egg nogg ice cream. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, tweet, tweet

Sheesh! It's only 9:55 am and I'm already craving ice cream! Next time I'm all over those gingers. :)

Gastronomer, Bacononomer - you had your chance at Big Gay's!

Diana, I hear you on the gingers - and really hoping for some seasonal spice ice cream to go along with.
