Farfalla, my local Loz Feliz Italian joint. I'll be honest, I've been an Il Capriccio kinda gal in my nearly 2 years of Los Felizanchip. Now I don't know who'll win my heart over? They both boast home made pasta, good bread, and home made desserts. And they both deliver the goods.Hurrah for
Upon seating, we are given a basket of fresh bread accompanied by a saucer of olive oil bobbing with soft cloves of garlic, sun dried tomatoes and a few snippets of fresh rosemary. Good. Even better with a glass of their house cab ($8). The spinach and ricotta ravioli with mascaparone sauce is tops. I don't believe I've ever had a better spinach and cheese ravioli in my 28 years on planet earth. The pasta holding the spinach goodness is delicate and fresh, allowing you to focus on the stuffing and sauce. Oh, don't waste your time or franklins (har har Los Feliz joke) on the arugula + sauteed mushroom salad with aged ricotta. It sounds way better than it actually is.
If you are into body building and happen to visit Farfalla on a night when they serve their ahi tuna steak on a bed of white beans you are in luck and the Gold's Gym god is smiling down on you. Pure protein baby.
Dessert? Does a bear shit in the woods? Yes and Yes. The almond, pine nut torte with chocolate chips and fresh whipped cream was enough to give Farfalla do over status. Oh!Mah!Gawd!
